No âmbito do Projeto Lusitano, o CENIT, com o apoio da ANIVEC, organiza, no dia 30 de setembro de 2026, no Parlamento Europeu, em Bruxelas, o evento “Making Circular Textiles Work in Europe: Transparency, Recycling, and Industrial Competitiveness”, dedicado aos desafios e às oportunidades da transição para uma indústria têxtil e do vestuário mais circular, transparente e competitiva.
Apoiada pelos eurodeputados Paulo Cunha (PPE, Portugal) e Bruno Gonçalves (S&D, Portugal), a iniciativa reunirá representantes das instituições europeias, da indústria e de entidades ligadas à circularidade, reciclagem e inovação nos setores têxtil e vestuário.
O debate analisará a aplicação prática dos principais instrumentos europeus para a circularidade dos produtos têxteis, nomeadamente o Passaporte Digital do Produto, os requisitos de conceção ecológica e os regimes de responsabilidade alargada do produtor. A discussão abordará igualmente as condições necessárias para reforçar a capacidade de recolha, triagem e reciclagem na Europa, promovendo simultaneamente a competitividade industrial e condições de concorrência equitativas.
O evento pretende contribuir para um diálogo construtivo entre os decisores políticos e os diferentes intervenientes da cadeia de valor, identificando soluções que permitam transformar os objetivos europeus de circularidade em oportunidades concretas de inovação, investimento e reindustrialização.
A sessão terminará com um momento de networking, proporcionando um espaço de contacto entre representantes institucionais, empresas, associações setoriais e outros parceiros europeus.

As part of Projeto Lusitano, CENIT, supported by ANIVEC, is organising the event “Making Circular Textiles Work in Europe: Transparency, Recycling, and Industrial Competitiveness” on 30 September 2026 at the European Parliament in Brussels. The event will focus on the challenges and opportunities involved in the transition towards a more circular, transparent, and competitive textile and clothing industry.
Supported by Members of the European Parliament Paulo Cunha (EPP, Portugal) and Bruno Gonçalves (S&D, Portugal), the initiative will bring together representatives of the European institutions, industry stakeholders and organisations working in the fields of circularity, recycling, and innovation in the textile and apparel sectors.
The debate will examine the practical implementation of key European instruments for textile circularity, including the Digital Product Passport, ecodesign requirements and extended producer responsibility schemes. The discussion will also address the conditions needed to strengthen Europe’s collection, sorting and recycling capacity, while promoting industrial competitiveness and ensuring a level playing field.
The event aims to foster constructive dialogue between policymakers and stakeholders across the value chain, identifying solutions capable of turning Europe’s circularity ambitions into concrete opportunities for innovation, investment, and reindustrialisation.
The session will conclude with a networking reception, providing an opportunity for representatives of institutions, companies, industry associations and other European partners to connect and exchange views.
